About this opportunity

The primary responsibility of the Sales Manager for Germany will be to manage customer portfolios in the country, account managing existing customers and developing new business for Crown with a focus on West and Southwest Germany.

 

The Sales Manager will work closely with our plants in Saarlouis, Germany and Custines, France to marry up customer requirements and market demand with production and supply of Crown beverage cans.

 

The position is based in Zug, Switzerland and reports to the Regional Sales Director. Up to 50% travel will be required to succeed in this role.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver Sales volumes, value and prices against budget and sales objectives
  • Analyse competitor and industrial trends within the market to support decision-making
  • Identify and evaluate new market trends and opportunities
  • Develop opportunities for new business with the aim of growing Crown’s market share
  • Collaborate with customers to receive and analyse customer forecasts (short & long-term)
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels by customer, in accordance with contractual commitments
  • Liaise with Art & Repro with respect to design development and approval
  • Represent Crown and maintain regular contact with key customers / accounts
  • Arrange proactive visits to the customer / filling locations to maintain good relations and improve our understanding of customer requirements

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in a Business or Engineering subject
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, account management and / or business development
  • Knowledge of the metal packaging sector

 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Fluency in German, ideally native speaker, as well as highly proficient in English
  • Strong head for figures, with budgeting and good excel skills
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously
  • IT literacy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: negotiation, organisation and influencing
  • Capable of working under pressure
