About this opportunity

The position of the Compliance Manager is created to ensure that all Shared Service Centre departments meet the company's policies, standards and with particular emphasis on Sarbanes Oxley controls. This role is based in Wantage, Oxfordshire, UK and reports into the European Shared Service Centre Manager. 
 

The purpose of this role is to identify and assess potential risks and develop remediation plans to manage any exposure and to implement an independent and a robust control and compliance function at Shared Services to build a reliable defence to protect and safeguard compliance thresholds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review SOX control evidence for completeness and compliance
  • Organise the collection and custody of control evidence for SOX audits
  • Manage SOX audits and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with SOX controls
  • Organise and manage the audit process with divisional internal and external audit with PWC
  • Review and standardise controls to simplify and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the controls in the shared services
  • Maintain routine communication, feedback and reports to the SSC management team on the effectiveness of the SSC controls
  • Proactively detect ethical violations, compliance issues and implement remediation plans in accordance with SSC management team
  • Ensure that changes to governance requirements are communicated to all those affected within shared services and amongst businesses
     

Required Qualifications

  • A recognised degree in Finance or Business Administration
  • Part or fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACMA 

 

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience working within one of the 'Big Four' is essential for this position 
  • Previous experience in a governance function or compliance role
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP)

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a Shared Service Centre environment
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • An additional European language
