We have a new vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Shipley.

Your mission in CMbE

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for interpreting customer specifications and design machines specific to their requirements, producing all 3D models and associated 2D manufacturing drawings, working to BS8888 standards and use of other British Standards where appropriate for features such as splines, keyways and gears. The successful candidate will be using the MRP II system to generate BOMs in order to enable the on-time in-full issuing of all parts into manufacture and create sales orders and divisions for contracts. 

The candidate will provide technical support and information to Machine Pre-Delivery Inspection, the Assembly department during machine builds and to CMbEs global customer base. The successful candidate will also provide technical assistance with manufacturing concession requests, and offer rectification solutions where needed. The ideal candidate will work with the Senior/Lead Engineer to ensure that machine designs comply with all CE, Legal and regulatory requirements and will have meticulous attention to detail in order to investigate problems related to mechanical aspects of designs, working to initiate corrective actions following CMbE's ECR process.

About you

The candidate must have at least 2 years experience working within a Manufacturing Engineering role and apprentice trained in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engieering. A HNC or equivalent in either discipline is essential, however a degree is desirable. The successful candidate must have experience and knowledge of CAD (2D and 3D), ideally working with Siemens NX CAD. The candidate should have knowledge of can-making machinery and processes in order to ensure that component and assembly drawings are designed for manufacture and remain cost-effective. The successful candidate will possess strong problem solving skills in order to make sound decisions upon interpreting data and have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liase with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also have experience in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines.
