About this opportunity
We have a new vacancy based in Shipley for a Buyer on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC).
Your mission in CMbE
The Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of aftermarket and service parts for complex machine tool systems. This position will support customer service, maintenance, and warranty operations by maintaining the availability of critical spare parts through negotiating prices with suppliers and placing purchasing orders, ensuring schedule reporting and delivery promises are maintained by suppliers with information communicated to the project and engineering teams. The role requires strong supplier co-ordination, good technical understanding and a customer-focussed approach to meet operational needs. The successful candidate will manage cost efficiency through optimising inventory levels to balance availability, which includes monitoring and managing slow moving, excess and obsolute inventory in order to reduce waste.
About you
The candidate will bring at least 2 years of procurement experience, ideally in spare parts or aftermarket environments and hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience of working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) such as SAP and procurement tools and technical sourcing to engineering drawings, BOMs and international sourcing. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of Purchasing Best Practices and an excellent understanding of structure procurement process and systems. This role requires the candidates to be proactive, focussed and flexible and be able to work as a part of a team as well as independantly. Excellent communication skills are key to this role in order to be able to negotiate and interface with internal and external stakeholders. The ability to travel internationally is preferable however not essential.
