About this opportunity
We have a new vacancy for a Bench Hand to be based at our site in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
Your mission in CMbE
Reporting to the Machine Shop Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for accurately fitting and deburring parts to drawing specifications. The candidate will participate in cost saving initiatives by providing feedback to the improvement team and will partake in investigations to determine non-conformance using the 5 Whys and 8 Disciplines (5Y/8D). The ideal candidate will work to audit areas to company 6's standards, and ensure that stock control procedures are adhered to at all times.
About you
The successful candidate will be proficient in fitting high complex components, and will have excellent attention to detail. The candidate will have knowledge of basic lean principles, and will able to demonstrate problem solving, mechanical skills and technical skills to manufacture products in a safe manner following CMbE procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to be able to escalate any tooling, drawing, routing and machine faults and an understanding of Quality Systems. Prior experience of bench fitting/hand skills are essential. A minimum of 3 years experience within bench fitting is desirable.
