About this opportunity

We are looking for a Financial Controller, based in our offices in Saint-Ouen, close to Paris.

 

As part of the European Division Finance Reporting team, you will be responsible for the preparation of European business entities; collecting and validating monthly reporting, rolling forecasts and budgets.

 

You will participate in ongoing projects to meet the aims of improving quality and reducing the cycle time within the department, assisting in the improvement of the reporting processes and reporting systems updates.

 

Contacts within the Group

 

You will develop close relationships with the Finance consolidation team, shared service centers, Finance management team (finance managers of European countries), plant Finance Controllers and plant HR Managers.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

Monthly reporting, rolling forecasts and budgets

  • Ensure that entities in European affiliates report data On Time in Full according to group requirements using our reporting application (OneStream) for the actual monthly reportings as well as budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate reporting with Finance Directors, European affiliates, Shared Service Centers and consolidation teams
  • Review and validate P&L Operating Income accounts, including sales analysis, cost control analysis and other non-financial KPI’s
  • Review Balance Sheet accounts and Cash flow statements, mainly focusing on Working Capital and Free Cash flow
  • Review Capex reconciliation (expense validation system vs reporting application) and review and approve expense validations including leases
  • Participate in the completion of various analysis and reporting activities for the division senior leadership team including Flash Sales, overdues, Capex, HR indicators, industrial indicators
  • Maintain internal controls and procedures around the reporting process, in the group SOX environment
  • Supervise one reporting intern

Projects

  • Improve quality and reduce cycle time within the department, taking the most out of reporting application and automating manual tasks
  • Improve the analytical review process with automated retrieves or reports

Systems

  • Participate in updating the reporting application structure for the European Division
  • Participate in the Sales administration database and related internal applications for sales performance, customer and margin analysis

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Degree in relavant Finance/Accounting subject 
  • Ideally with 3 to 5 years early career experience in practice in a similar position or in one of the Big 4 auditing firms

 

Required Skills and Competncies

  • Good knowledge of Finance reporting in an industrial environment
  • Good accounting skills
  • Good communication skills with operational written and spoken English
  • Curious and able to take initiative
  • IT / software skills that include Excel and macros
