About this opportunity
We have a new opportunity for a Front-End Team Lead role is to lead and motivate the team throughout the shift, in all aspects of normal line operation. This includes ensuring compliance with safety procedures, driving quality, production, spoilage, planning, leading changeovers, autonomous maintenance activities and problem solving. These activities are in addition to the core role and the Team Leader remains part of the normal crewing levels.
Shift Pattern
You will work on a Continental Based Shift Rota, attending 2 x 12-hour days followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, then 4 days off. After a pattern of five of these shifts you have 14 days off and we also give you 18 days off in the summer.
This equates to 144 rostered shifts per year and an outstanding work/life balance!

Main Responsibilities
Production
- Ensure team compliance with all safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Ensure product quality is maintained, reacting to any change in process, and follow up on non-conformance
- Set and maintain a high standard of housekeeping
- Communicate across the department in relation to the above processes by ensuring logbooks are completed and liaising with other shift Team Leaders to ensure effective communication across the department
- Ensure effective shift handovers are conducted by all team members
- Participate in the development of the team
Leadership Expectations
- Demonstrate a commitment to Safety - STOP cards/Audits
- Show commitment to team working.
- Show commitment to housekeeping, participating fully in audits, and setting and delivering high personal standards
- Provide cover for the Shift Manager during holiday periods and other absence
Required Education and Qualifications
- Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance
- Leadership / Management Qualification
Beneficial Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant experience in Front End can forming process (cupping, body making, trimming)
- Experience leading, developing, or managing a team
