About this opportunity

 

This is a great opportunity for an EHS Engineer based at Parma, Italy. 

Under “Engage for Health and Safety Excellence” umbrella, the EHS Engineer will provide accurate and timely support to the EHS Manager to:

  • Ensure statutory obligations compliance in any EHS matters 
  • Implement and develop the EHS Management System as per ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Implement, launch and sustain Crown’s EHS Initiatives and identify, promote Best Practices across the site in support of Plant KPIs achievement, to meet site, corporate and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate and promote a culture of safety within the site via training, consistent communication and safety campaigns and through positive recognition of the workforce initiatives


Health & Safety
Provide expert advice to Line Managers in all aspects of H&S aspects in the workplace 
Manage and develop the ISO 45001 system to ensure the application of safe systems of work
Manage and ensure the compliance with site safety policies of all contractors and non - CROWN personnel

 

Environment 
Monitor legislation change and ensure compliance with legal requirements: IPPC, Waste, Water, Air, Noise, and Energy regulations
Manage and develop the ISO 14001 standard system in all its aspects; internal and external audits, up-to-date procedures, environmental management programmes, risk assessments, management review etc
Collect relevant data relating to environmental performance and issues and furnish appropriate personnel and authorities with this information

 

Accidents & Incidents
Investigate, in accordance with plant and statutory procedure, all incidents, near-misses and accidents, and initiate effective corrective actions if appropriate
Investigate complaints arising from, environmental impacts and minimise loss of reputation or image arising from incidents
Promote accident prevention activities and devise and communicate One Point Safety lessons, Safety Campaigns and initiatives to reduce accidents and enhance Safe Working behaviours.
Promote the STOP/STEP safety behavioural philosophy.
Follow-up and improve the Emergency Response Teams and lead their training and development to enhance their effectiveness
Manage the Fire Prevention and risk management systems and policies, ensuring that service providers deliver an effective quality service

 

Communication and Training
Encourage the participation of Safety Representatives and Line Management in the promotion of Workforce involvement and implementing best practice
Raise environment, food hygiene and health and safety awareness in the plant at all levels and organise relevant training

 

About you

You have a Technical or an Engineering degree in Industrial Safety & Hygiene or in Environmental Engineering or equivalent with minimum 2-3 years’ experience in EHS aspects acquired in a manufacturing environment. You are keen on working in a fast-paced, high pressure and high technology environment. You will need to hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety (or equivalent ie ASPP qualification), as well as equivalent Environmental qualifications, with working experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 Management systems and excellent knowledge of all relevant EHS legislation. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge an advantage; IT Literate, fluency in English essential, both verbal and written. With a safety mind set, you have good interpersonal and communication and facilitation skills. A proven ability of working within a team environment, with analytical and problem solving skills are essential. Comprehensive training will be given to the successful candidate.
