Your work environment:

We are looking for an Accountant to provide accounting and financial support, based at our manufacturing beverage plant in Korinthos (Greece). Collaborating within the local finance team and European Shared Service Centre in the UK, this position reports to the Chief Accountant.

The role covers a wide range of accounting processes including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Taxation, statutory reporting and e-books administration. This role supports the accurate and timely recording, reporting and control of financial transactions in compliance with Greek and US Group standards.

Your mission in Crown:

• Manage daily financial operations including invoice processing, payment runs, bank reconciliations, and collections.
• Prepare and post accounting entries in SAP S/4 HANA in line with Crown policies and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate supplier and customer master data.
• Support VAT, customs, and indirect tax filings in compliance with Greek legislation.
• Manage Greek e-books electronic reporting system per AADE requirements.
• Assist with payroll processing and related employee tax submissions.
• Contribute to statutory accounts preparation, regulatory filings and audit deliverables.
• Support treasury operations including cash management and bank communications.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and reporting using OneStream tools.
• Participate in monthly and quarterly closing processes.
• Ensure SOX compliance and maintain documentation for control testing.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, including automation initiatives.
• Assist Chief Accountant during tax audits, statutory audits, and internal reviews.

About you:

Essential

• Post-graduate qualification (MSc, MBA) in Finance, accounting or auditing.
• Member or part-qualified in a recognised accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit within a commercial or manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial control processes.
• Hands-on experience in general ledger, accounts payable or accounts receivable functions.
• Strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation and statutory accounting.
• Strong Excel and data handling skills
• Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Proficient in Excel; fluent in Greek and good command of English.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and proactive mindset to problem solving and process improvement
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and responsibilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills

Desirable

• Experience in a multinational or shared service environment.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX compliance frameworks and OneStream reporting tools.
• Additional European language.
