About this opportunity

We are looking for a strategic HR Manager to work in our manufacturing plant environment in Custines, France. The HR Manager is part of the Senior Leadership Team in the Plant and reports directly to the Plant Manager. The Custines Plant operates 24 hours per day on a continuous shift system, 360 days per annum, and employs approximately 200 people.


The HR Manager and their team are responsible for implementing best practices in HR operations and strategy, striving for excellence, and streamlining processes where possible in line with our continuous improvement culture. 


The new HR Manager in this role, will ensure that Plant employees are engaged, retained, and developed effectively. You will be responsible for internal communications within the Plant, facilitating the distribution of relevant information. You will drive leadership objectives and will implement strategic action plans.


Main Responsibilities

As the single point of contact for HR-related activities, you will:

  • Oversee employee and industrial relations
  • Support, advise and guide Managers in each function around performance management, Learning & Development initiatives, monitoring time and attendance, payroll supervision, etc. 
  • Provide operational and hands-on support to the Plant to achieve its targeted performance, especially in relation to personnel costs, headcount, productivity and related KPIs
  • Plan and implement initiatives around Wellbeing, ED&I, and other related topics, while collaborating and sharing best practice with colleagues across EMEA
  • Support recruitment and succession planning in collaboration with central HR and TA teams 
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to administer and comply with Crown and country-specific policies, processes, and systems


Required Education and Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level, ideally in Human Resources or other relevant subject 


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant HR generalist experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience at the management level
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Employee Engagement, Organisational Change and Development, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Talent Management, HR Admin and Payroll 
  • Knowledge of HR management systems such as SAP

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel Fluency in both written and verbal English
