About this opportunity

We currently have a vacancy for Senior Maintenance Engineers working days, based in Botcherby, Carlisle  (UK). The Botcherby Plant is a major supplier of our aluminum beverage can products, manufacturing in the region of 1.4 billion cans and in excess of 5 billion ring pull ends per year, operating 24/7. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join a multinational organisation.  


As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, in addition to taking a hands-on role towards maintenance engineering, repairs and changeovers you will:- 
•    Liaise with suppliers to procure spare parts, materials and services.
•    Lead machine overhaul activity during maintenance periods.
•    Strive to become a subject matter expert in your area.
•    Act as a mentor for engineering apprentices.
•    Manage projects on behalf of the Engineering Coordinator.
•    Assist in the development of training plans and skills matrices.
•    Cover Engineering Coordinator role. 

 

Job Requirements 

To apply you should be a qualified Engineer with a minimum level 3 advanced apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical bias) with a proven track record of helping to coordinate projects and maintenances. You should also possess:- 

•    A safety-first mindset.
•    An enthusiastic and highly motivated approach.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Working knowledge of MS Office.  
•    The ability to work flexibly during maintenance periods.  
•    Well-developed problem solving skills.
•    The ability work under pressure.
•    Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD is desirable.
