About this opportunity

Due to recent innovations in the HR team at Crown, we are moving towards a more global approach to people management and as such have launched a new opportunity for a Regional HR Manager covering one of our most important countries in Europe. 

 

We have three manufacturing sites in Spain: Agoncillo, Valencia, and Sevilla as well as an Administrative Centre and a Sales Office.  

 

As the Regional HR Manager for Spain, you can be based in any of the three plant locations to oversee HR strategy and operations across these sites. As part of the EMEA team at Crown you will report to the Vice-President for Human Resources EMEA.

Your missions in Crown

All duties for the Regional HR Manager are underpinned by our Swiss Principal policies and guidelines (Crown’s EMEA HQ is in Zug, Switzerland and we follow the Swiss principal company model). 

 

You will provide leadership to ensure that these standards are met while providing practical support and guidance to plant Human Resources Managers, Plant Managers, and the Regional Manufacturing Director. 

 

Your aim will be to enable these stakeholders to implement HR policies and programmes for the region whilst complying with legal requirements, corporate directives, and pay and labour agreements. 

 

You will have a strong input in Human Resources budgets resulting in the efficient, cost-effective operation of the business and continuous development of all employees.

 

Main Responsibilities 

•    Operate as the key point of contact for the region and a communication hub for the local HR team, ensuring information flow and sharing of knowledge
•    Provide direction, guidance, and counselling to the local Plant and Business teams on best practice, policies, and regulations
•    Ensure compliance, employee engagement, workforce planning and appropriate handling of all other HR-related issues
•    Ensure all employees understand work health and safety requirements and expectations, through induction, instruction, training and supervision
•    Effectively drive relations with Trade Unions to ensure an open and honest culture at all levels of the business
•    Supervise any negotiations in any plant in the region, ensuring wage negotiations meet budget, negotiating agreements to facilitate implementation in the region
•    Handle escalated employee relations and any relevant labour issues in the region
•    Work closely with the business to agree and apply annual budget for salaries and yearly personnel cost targets
•    Deliver HR results as agreed with VP Human Resources and VP Operations
•    Monitor monthly metrics and indicators, reporting them on a monthly basis (inflation, absenteeism, overtime, personnel costs, headcount, etc.)
•    Oversee country payroll process and ensure compliance to HR related SOX controls in the region
•    Ensure country HR documentation is developed, continuously monitored and is compliant with local laws, as well as corporate standards and HR best practice

 

Required Education and Experience 

•    Master’s degree in Spanish Employment Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
•    10+ years of experience in all-rounded Human Resources, preferably from multinational company or with regional experience 
•    A proven track record with labour relations matters and ability to align HR strategies with broader business goals
•    Willing to work internationally (e.g. cooperate with Group HR, involve yourself in international projects, etc.)

 

Required Skills and Competencies 

•    Strong communication skills, able to connect, bridge and create synergy between Operations and Corporate Group teams 
•    Results-oriented and analytical with strong business acumen
•    Strong negotiation skills, with ability to influence at all levels 
•    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to run multiple projects seamlessly
•    Hands-on approach
•    Fluent in Spanish and English, available to travel
