Networks & Communications Teams Leader

About this opportunity

We are looking for a Networks & Communications Teams Leader within our European Information Support System. The position of Networks and Communications Team Leader will be responsible for providing, developing and maintaining a secure, reliable and performant network infrastructure to meet the needs of the European IT systems used by the organisation. This role will also be responsible for the provision, operation and continuous improvement of the European Division’s electronic communications platforms (e.g. VOIP & Email).

 

This role can be based at either Wantage, Agoncillo, St Ouen, Botcherby or Peterborough. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the effective and efficient operational support of all third party and internally managed network & communications infrastructure
  • Ensure that investigation and response to network & communications related incidents are performed quickly, efficiently and diligently with a focus on Continual Service Improvement
  • Develop consistent, efficient and thorough network & communications incident response processes
  • Liaise with Business units and corporate functions to ensure that the network & communications Infrastructure addresses current and future business requirements
  • Lead the definition & delivery of a secure, reliable and performant network & communications infrastructure strategy that meets the current and future needs of the organisation whilst effectively managing costs
  • Identify, determine feasibility and implement technologies and trends that could help improve Crown Europe’s network & communications infrastructure and standards
  • Work with the IT teams in the other Crown divisions to provide stable inter-divisional network & communications links and align strategic goals wherever possible
  • Meet governance requirements and ensure compliance with all necessary network & communications related regulations, local legislations and audit requirements
  • Ensure that all network & communications solutions comply with cyber security policies and frameworks so they remain secure and minimise the risk of cyber attacks
  • Document network & communications solutions and standards and keep all network & communications related documentation up-to-date
  • Perform regular network performance testing and baselining, and ensure that the needs of the end users and IT systems are met and continuously improved
  • Provide day to day management of the team members in the network & communications team, ensuring they are happy, motivated and perform to their highest potential
  • Provide training and materials to aide end users in the adoption and optimal use of network & communications technologies and investments
  • Continuously improve whilst maintaining operational uptime and minimising impact to end users
  • Develop and update solutions whilst maintaining compliance with corporate policies and local legislation
  • Maintain security integrity and continue to abide by security policies, standards and practices

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Previous work experience of at least 5 years working with a Microsoft based IS Infrastructure
  • Detailed knowledge of IS Networking technologies, solutions, procedures & processes
  • Strong understanding of telephony, email and associated technologies
  • Previous work experience of at least 1 year in a role with network & communications related responsibilities
  • Demonstrable history of developing & implementing new network & communications solutions
  • Understanding of IT within a manufacturing environment
  • Co-ordinated activities across multiple geographies
  • Ability to work productively and efficiently under pressure and meeting deadlines whilst demonstrating attention to detail
  • Process oriented and customer focused
  • A strong command of English (both written and spoken) is required
