Management Accountant

Your work environment :

We currently have a vacancy for a Management Accountant reporting to the Finance Controller, at our Braunstone site (on-site) in the UK.  The Braunstone Plant is one of the largest can-manufacturing Plants in Europe producing 3 billion cans per year over 5 high-speed production lines that operate on a 24/7 basis.

Your mission in CROWN:

The successful candidate will prepare, develop and analyse key financial information to support decision making to ensure future organisational improvement, whilst providing high quality support to management colleagues. They will also maintain accurate financial records, complying with external/internal policies ensuring value is achieved from management information systems.

Principal Accountabilities will include:  

  • Month End Management Accounting, including preparation of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, variance analysis and commentary  
  • Support Plant functions to make financial decisions  Identify opportunities to optimise value, implement continuous improvement and support the Plant Cost Reduction program  
  • Communicating financial results and analysis to Financial and Non-Financial Managers  
  • Budget and rolling forecast preparation and presentation  
  • Standard Costing Review  
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Audit requirements and other internal financial risks and controls


The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant status, preferably CIMA although ACCA will be considered, alternatively should be QBE with an appropriate degree  
  • Proven Management Accounting experience, ideally three - five years post qualification experience
  • Ideally experience should have been gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to review and present data to Financial and non-Financial Management  
  • Expert technical and systems skills, including advanced Excel spreadsheet skills and ERP system experience  (JDE/SAP)
  • Ability to portray analytical skills and drive continuous improvement  
  • Evidence of working productively and efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines whilst demonstrating attention to detail and high quality performance
