Your mission in Crown

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer.  The successful candidate will be a key member of the day-based Plant Manufacturing Team and will primarily responsible for ensuring optimum availability of the Beverage Lines to enable production to achieve/surpass budgeted operational levels.  This will be achieved by efficient deployment of engineering resources and delivering effective maintenance programmes. This role that has man-management responsibilities and therefore previous experience in this area is essential along with excellent communication and organisational skills, the passion and drive to “get things done” is critical.

 

Principal accountabilities will include: 

  • Deliver ALL maintenance plans across the Beverage Lines safely, on time in full, and ensure effective reporting of these activities in the relevant systems
  • Ensure ALL follow-up activities from the maintenances are followed up, communicated and closed out in a timely manner
  • To ensure the Beverage production lines and processes are reliable to meet the Plants’ LHE and spoilage targets
  • Good commercial awareness and experience of managing suppliers and contractors, to deliver planned & annual maintenance activities within budget 
  • Analyse production reporting, Pareto analysis of losses, on the Beverage Lines, and plan corrective actions as appropriate to maximise production
  • Manage periods of downtime to ensure the loss of production is kept to a minimum
  • Implement Good Manufacturing Practice and housekeeping improvements across the Plant, liaison with Inventory controller to keep stores stocks  updated and appropriate for the beverage line equipment and processes
  • Manage contractors on site including permits to work/risk assessments/method statements etc.

 

About you

•    A strong Health and Safety mind-set
•    Minimum City & Guilds/NVQ L3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering – this is essential 
•    Excellent planning and communication skills and the ability to up-date and feedback progress to a wide variety of people is essential
•    A teamwork approach whilst being able to deliver outcomes and drive improvements and ensure maintenance activities are completed on time in full Previous man-management experience
•    Good levels of MS Office skills .

 

It would also be advantageous if you possess:
•    Knowledge of installing new equipment / setting up asset care / maintenance / spares etc
•    IOSH / NEBOSH / permits to work and risk assessment
•    Previous experience using structured continuous improvement techniques would be considered advantageous
•    Experience of managing a computerised maintenance system
