The Botcherby Plant is a key site within Bevcan Europe & Middle East, producing 2.4 billion beverage cans and 6 billion ends per annum.  The Plant operates 24 hours a day on a continuous shift system, 360 days per year and employs direct 350 people.  


Due to internal promotion we have a vacancy for a Training Coordinator based at our production facility in Botcherby (Carlisle).  Reporting to the Human Resources Manager you will be a key member of the team, helping shape an effective and sustainable learning and development function.  


The success candidate will coordinate and deliver training in all areas of the business, in addition they will:- 

  • Influence and support managers to drive competency at all levels, 
  • introduce processes and practices to embed a learning culture, 
  • ensure current and future training and development needs are analysed and met, 
  • direct and coach workplace trainers, 
  • drive continuous improvement in all aspects of training, delivery and performance,   
  • lead and develop the site apprenticeship scheme, 
  • work with internal and external partners to innovate and share best practice and 
  • evaluate and improve ROI.  




Your mission in Crown


About you 


The successful candidate will be a training and development professional with a relevant L&D qualification, CIPD or similar, and a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.  You will possess excellent verbal, written, administration and presentation skills.  

This role would be best suited to a self-motivated, structured and proactive individual who is keen to work in a fast-paced, high pressure and high technology environment.  You will require strong influencing capability, drive and the ability to problem solve and innovate.  You will be familiar with continuous improvement techniques to support the delivery of business goals. Preferably you will have a background in either mechanical or electrical engineering, although this isn’t essential.
